Founder & Principal Inspector

Meg Mathes is the Founder and Principal Inspector of Niton Property Inspection Inc., bringing nearly 30 years of hands-on mechanical systems experience.

Her background includes Red Seal Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Class A Gasfitter certification, and extensive experience working with both residential and commercial systems.

Meg’s approach goes beyond surface-level evaluation. She focuses on how systems function together—identifying performance concerns, safety risks, and long-term durability.

Every inspection is grounded in real-world diagnostics, not just visual observation.

This depth of experience allows Niton inspections to identify issues that are often missed in traditional, checklist-based inspections.

Why Niton (NYE-ton)

The name Niton comes from the Latin word nitere, meaning “to shine.” It is also the root of the word radon—an invisible gas measurable only through proper testing.

That dual meaning reflects our philosophy.

Homes may appear solid on the surface, but what matters most is often unseen. At Niton Property Inspection, we focus on what lies beneath finishes and behind walls—structural systems, mechanical performance, environmental conditions, and the details that influence long-term safety and durability.

Inspection is not about fear. It is about clarity.

Niton represents precision, structure, and light—bringing what is hidden into view so homeowners can move forward with confidence.

Rural Focus

Serving Yellowhead County and Surrounding Communities

Niton specializes in rural and acreage properties, including homes with wells, septic systems, and outbuildings.

Our inspections are designed to help buyers understand not just the structure and finishes of a home, but the infrastructure systems that support it—and how those systems perform in real-world conditions.
